The Flying V bottom shape featured in the Cypher improves directional stability and control, while simultaneously improving rail-to-rail carving. This is achieved through a unique Spiral V through the planning area of the board with a flat tail section to help the board to snap through the last part of the turn.
The Key to the Active Stringers strength is the stiff and ultra lightweight carbon I-beam through the center of the board. This prevents the board from over flexing and damaging the laminate when flexing beyond the working range. The secret to the Active Technology flex is the high memory polypropylene layer that allows the full biaxial carbon skins to flex and compress within the working range. The combination gives a perfect blend of maximum flex with maximum durability.
This board is ideal for riding strapless, you can shuffle forwards in light wind and when going upwind and then widen your stance and move further back when riding. Because of the wider tail and the amount of hip on the Cypher, you need to move your back foot, and your center of gravity, quite far back to snap off the top.
One of the benefits of the surfinz box is that you can move the fins closer together (forwards/backwards) and this has quite a big impact on the Cypher. Try the fin in the center positions and then move the back fins backwards, and the front fins forwards if you would like to increase directional stability. Do the opposite if you would like to make the board more loose.
